KIT A1:  TYPE 3 SUSPENSION KIT.

Here is the type 3 suspension, mostly used with a full automatic transmission.  Included in this kit is the steering neck with 1” bearings, neck stop & dust cap, the type three suspension (if available), sand blasted & welded to the neck, the automatic transmission mounting frame & rear body mount, the front rigid transmission mount with metric bolts & nuts, the “ADJUSTABLE T-BAR”, the “DUAL BRAKE PEDDLES” tied together working as one with foot pegs, 5/8” brake master cylinder and linkage, and the break line kit.  You will be responsible for the IRS bushings, bearings, mechanics, and the rear brakes.  Some assembly required. 

2. STEERING NECK FOR A TYPE 3 SUSPENSION.

This neck is made for a Possum Pride Body ready to weld to your VW IRS suspension. The neck frame is made out of 2” by 2” by ¼” tubing. The part that is welded to the type 3 IRS suspension is made out of 2” by 4” by ¼” tubing.  The steering neck is welded on a 37-degree rake and comes with neck stops and 1” bearings & dust cap. This part is primer painted. All the critical welding is done by SAT Motor Sports www.satmotorsports.com.

3. TYPE 3 TRANSMISSION AND REAR BODY MOUNT FRAME

The frame to hold the automatic transmission is made out of 3”X 3” X ¼” material and 1-1/2” square tubing, with 5/16” plate to bolt to the transmission.  Two 3/8” bolts and nuts and spacers to mount to the shock towers are included, as are the four metric bolts for mounting to the side of the transmission.  Two extra 1-1/2” square tubes are welded to the transmission mounting plate to mount an optional gas tank or to and or an optional chrome motor cage to.

4. NEW RIGID FRONT TRANSMISSION MOUNT TO SUSPENSION.

The new transmission mount replacement is made of ¼” material and comes with the metric mounting bolts & nuts for the suspension.
